Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using ChitiShield, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using ChitiShield on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. The service

ChitiShield provides automated scanning of policy documents against DPDP 2023 and GDPR requirements, AI-generated remediation suggestions, and compliance reporting tools. Reports are generated to assist your compliance process; they do not constitute legal advice.

3. No legal advice

ChitiShield is a software tool, not a law firm. Gap reports, scores, and AI-drafted language are intended as a starting point for your legal or compliance team to review — not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer or Data Protection Officer.

4. Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of documents and information you upload.
• You must have the right to upload and process any documents submitted to the platform.
• You agree not to use ChitiShield to scan or process another party’s confidential data without authorization.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis as selected at signup. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Data ownership

You retain ownership of all documents and data you upload. We retain ownership of the ChitiShield platform, including any underlying models, scoring logic, and generated report templates.

7. Limitation of liability

ChitiShield is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform, including regulatory penalties incurred despite use of our compliance reports.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the platform, or fail to pay applicable fees. You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect.
